My First Entry
Maybe starting to settle into life in the midlands now I think. There are a lot of bullshitters and wankers in my department, but I think I've met potential non-pretentious people I might make myself more aquianted with. The other day Barnaby and his gf Amy invited me and a few other vegetarians who're on the Hegel course to have a vegan christmas dinner with them. I've been vegetarian for 11 years now, but I've never had proper vegan food before as I just can't live without cheese on pizzas. Anyway, Lee, Sarah, Gregory and I turned up all sophisticated (well I turned up all sophisticated - they're all naturally sophisticated lol) about 8pm and took humourous photos to pass the time while our hosts cooked. It was a bit anoying later on as the tosser who lives next door to me in halls turned up pissed out of his tree and started making a tool out of himself and sleezing all over Sarah (who's been engaged to some guy at oxford for like 5 years). Anyway, it was a good night. I dont' have anything in common with that group other than the course I'm doing but it was nice to get to know some non-pretentious people and I got really good vegan food so all is good
Last friday I ventured to an Offbeat indie-punk night at the student union for a christmas party. I didn't know anyone when I turned up, but I grabbed a box of cheap santa hats off someoneon the door and started giving them out to random people. And that leads me onto tonight. Tonight I'm supposed to be going over to this girl who I met last friday's flat for drinks before going on to some indie night in coventry which I've never been to before. It isn't a date or anything like that as they're not my type and I really don't know them. I'm just after a drinking buddy who is into similar music and isn't going to bore me to death with how much they love transendental ontology or 'Being'.
Right, I've procrastinated enough - I should go shower, shave and do some work.
