Afternoon all
Apologies for being totally hopeless in updating but I think maybe my brain has been so overloaded with stuff that all the little things have been pushed to one side and all the big things are so heavy on my mind that they become a big blur, YUK. Oh well, since my last update:
Although I never made it to the Birthday Meet at the end of January, I was in London a few days later to celebrate Chinese New Year with Anonwhymous and some of his friends. After spending some time wondering around for somewhere to eat we ended up in Chine Town and found a buffet and a large enough table for all of us to sit at followed by a pub to get slightly tipsy in
The next day, feeling not so clear headed, I headed back to Stoke for a uni class and Anonwhymous followed to get into Stoke for when my class finished. This was the night that I had been dreading for a few weeks. The poor boy had to meet my friends. We went to an Indian in Newcastle and had booked the table for 8 (there should have been 10 but a couple of people dropped out at the last minute). Im hindsight a big meal like this was perhaps not the way to go but then hindsight is always 20/20. While my flatmate and one friend turned up on time and we got chatting, the other 4 (The four who have been giving me hell over my change in lifestyle since I came back from Amsterdam) turned up over an hour late (which I found out later was purposely done). Granted they made some effort to communicate with the whole table but mainly kept to themselves. After the meal I got hell about apparently coaching people on what to say, being tired and un-talkative (apologies for illness, uni and travelling taking it out of me). To cut a long story very short, these 4 have banded very close together and at present the ball is firmly in their court about if they ever speak to me again because of my behaviour. Wait and see on that one then...
The next evening was much better with going to see Cinderella at the Regent Theatre in Hanley. It was set in the 1940s and was very good, recommended if it ever comes your way.
Cinderella
There was much rejoicing over take away food and getting comfy on the sofa with DVDs on Sunday and all in all a very nice weekend (I am counting Friday as a weekday)
The following week was a week of lessons being cancelled, work being lost via technology difficulties and rain. To top it off I got roped into the bi-annual visit to my sister who took great joy in telling me that where she lives now is much better than where I live, she is planning to have a baby and that her boyfriend is getting a better job and better money than my boyfriend (she still thinks I am with my flatmate this shows the distance between visits). Even after correcting her, she took her head out of her arse long enough to say that maybe I will get there someday, maybe.
Onto more cheerful things:
I went to my first EVER gig at a venue (excluding a trip to a festival). This was at the Brixton O2 Academy to see Rob Zombie...enough said...it was AMAZING and well worth the train ticket down there.
I went to see Paul at the O2 Cineworld which was so good we did not want to ruin it by seeing another film afterwards, so opted for Nandos instead. I do love their Chips!
The Doctor Who Experience was good too, I would not say it was great and a temptation is present to give them some suggestions but it was fascinating and fun and I could see the appeal. I am well on my way to becoming a BIG FAN.
Not much has happened since I got back from London after that. A confrontation with the 4 friends left me with high stress levels which was then added to by the highlighting of the uni project deadlines. 9 weeks and counting! So bad has been the impact of all that I have been doing that I have been granted a week to de-stress next week..in Bognor Regis with Anonwhymous and a couple of his friends. I will be on holiday with 3 guys as the photographer of silly and mad happenings for 5 days...oh DEAR!...photos to follow :-p
I do have things to look forward to in the coming months that allow a smile through my grim exterior. Russell Howard in June, and hopefully before that I can drag Tragique down here for a week once all my uni work is handed in. I am promising food, drink and entertainment and the chance to build a blanket fort in the living room if she so wishes :-P. It has been a while since I have seen my best friend, the only one who can make me smile no matter what on both the inside and out. Fingers crossed I can arrange some time for this in May.
That's all for now folks, I am off to watch Sherlock Holmes episodes and eat noodles rather pleased that I managed to keep the photos to a minimum..I really do take too many.
