What I have learned from working with children is that they need consistancy in their lives. A routine, everything done the same way, very Rain Man.
Certain factors can upset the routine. Divorce. A new sibling. Grandma coming to visit from Washington. And of course, Spring Break.
Today was the first day back to school from Spring Break. Let me tell you, preschoolers go one week without school, and they forget EVERYTHING they have learned up until that point. It's like they all left their brains at the beach. And I don't just mean ABC's but the rules of the playground and yes, how to go to the bathroom by themselves.
However they do gain the uncanny ability to sing 52 verses of "The Wheels of the Bus go Round and Round."
All of which, of course, makes ME want to take a vacation.

Re: Deadwood--are you getting the same heebie-jeebies that I am?
