That's actually pretty good to know.
The multitude of bacon varieties available in any decent English butchers is no-existent here. It's all belly bacon or "Canadian" back bacon.
Ordering a Scotch in the US is a pleasant surprise. None of that 5th of a jil nonsense. Much cheaper, too.
The US is vast. Try to settle in to a region and treat it as a European country.
Avoid California unless you are independently wealthy.
