It took me some time to think through this assignment from @missy and @rambo because I don't think I really have one favorite song. I have had different favorite for different times in my life. SO here are a few that have resonated with me over the years.
Duke Ellington- Jeeps Blues
This song is what I hear in my head as theme music. I walk around listening to it and play it while I practice Burlesque. I would do a piece to it if my Burlesque Troupe leader would let me. (it's her favorite song too) There is always guest slots and performances out of town though :) The embed function on my blog seems to be not functioning so here is a link to Jeep's Blues
The Darkness- I Believe in a Thing called Love
Don't hate, this song is ridiculous and AWESOME! I get it stuck in my head all of the time. I think I may have been hardwired to like it because I was raised on Heavy Metal and Hair Metal. The music video is hilarious and I want to dance when I hear it.
Queen- Don't Stop Me Now
What kind of a list would this be without the god of all song making an appearance? If you don't like Queen, you should really take another listen. I think they could have been the most successful band ever if it weren't for Freddy Mercury's untimely death.
David Bowie- Golden Years
How can you not feel funky when listening to David Bowie. I wish I still had my moms vintage Bowie poster, after I saw the Labyrinth I was hooked on Bowie!
Daft Punk- Robot Rock
Daft Punk is as close to techno as it comes for me. Discovery was an album is listen to until my CD was super fucked up. I can live my life happily to this album and my girls and I usually start our day with dancing (the "robot song" as they call it is a favorite). So when you wake up in the morning you now know that some where in Rochester I am dancing to this song like a goof ball with my girls
The Flaming Lips- She Don't Use Jelly
an anthem for weirdos if there ever was one. This song reminds me to be myself and stay weird :)
Jimi Hendrix- Foxy Lady
Of course Jimi Hendrix is my main man, I listen to him all the time if my tattoo wasn't a total give away. This song is one of my favorites by him and it makes me feel super sexy, I like to listen to it while I am getting ready to go out to help give me a little boost of confidence. I will be doing a set for the site in the future in homage to Jimi when my tattoo is finished. I could never come up with a better title than Foxy Lady <3
I hope you all enjoyed my little playlist :) Please feel free to check out my sets in Member Review: Canvas and Overcast Harvest and keep a look out for my newest one "If I Were The Water Of Your Bath" coming out this fall.
