When I was a Senior in high school I got to go on an amazing trip to Europe with about 35 people from my school. We did a ten day trip starting in Barcelona and ending in Rome. Barcelona was GORGEOUS in February, the sun was shining and there were oranges on trees everywhere. In high school I thought I would be going to college for Art History and I looked at this trip like the most amazing learning experience to start off my life as an art historian. Barcelona had one huge attraction for me: Gaudi! I loved seeing all three of his building projects there. It was amazing to get to walk through the mind of Gaudi in a way. His buildings were very unique, I can't say I will ever be able to replicate the experience in any other setting.
We also got to meet some very cool street performers in Barcelona at La Rambla. I geeked out over this sexy Edward Scissor Hands :) as any 17 year old girl would.
I had the time of my life in Barcelona. I had never been out of the Country before, (except to go to Canada, which is super close to where I grew up) the everything about Spain was so vibrant and beautiful. I loved how old and historic everything felt. I come from a fairly old city when it comes to American history but Barcelona was steeped in gorgeous fountains and ancient churches. I didn't want to leave to to go on the rest of the trip.
