Arrrr! Yokatta Yo, me mateys!

In honour of me ever-lovin' girlfriend and, perhaps a wee bit strangely, the fact that it's Talk Like a Pirate Day, I've decided to change all me favourite Suicide Gals to bein' of Asian extraction and nothin' but.

Arr, but I can hear ye saying, "what do the two things have in common, captain?" An' I ken that it...

Yarrr!!! Silly parselmouths and their lackluster landlovin' ways.

I was in fact a mausoleumouth yesterday, due to being excessively hung over. Didn't hear any more snakes tho.

juliana:
ahHAHHAHAH ! heh!

Well since everyone knows it's pronounced "YOOLIANA" I thought I was the obvious choice for the letter U.

And I'm not Asian, I'm Ecuadorian! Get it right!

ooo aaa

Ok. Select pictures from the first half of my trip are posted here. I've decided to not post photos of anybody else's face here at SG - not without permission. Some people are more sensitive to such things than I am and I can respect that. So if you want to see what my girlfriend looks like (she's not bad) you'll have to go to...

oh! All asian would be cool!

Yay for themes that make people feel not cool enough to qualify!
eddie:
she got caught teaching the public haw to mutilate already dead flowers and arrange them in a very sick and twisted manner. I mean shoving a whole bunch of dead things in a vase and cutting them up and stuff? And then putting it proudly on display?!

Fucked up.

It's 8:45 on Tuesday morning. K has left for work so I've got the whole day to myself. What to do? All I know is that I'm going to Jersey Bar and Kushidori tonight. I'm so excited that I doubt I can do anything even remotely constructive today. Everyone who isn't in a vegetarian state NEEDS to come to Kushidori with me some time. Fuck...

I love it when two of my favourite things come together. In this case, it's crotchety scientists and orgasms. I was doing my morning perusal of Pharyngula (home of crotchety scientist PZ Myers) and lo and behold: he has tossed off a little blog entry on the female orgasm! Woot!

Let me just pause a moment and reflect...

Okay, I'm done. Where was I?...

There's now three of those little videos out.

I think it's forward progress, but I also have names to add to the list.

Okay, um, well anyways.

Joss Whedon and Summer Glau seem to be bored. They've made a few short videos that feature River Tam talking to a school counsellor or something. The first one is the first session and the second one is session #416. For the sake of my fellow Firefly fans, I've downloaded them and for a limited time they will be available from...

i've only ever seen the first few episodes of that series, it was promising enough to keep a non scifi geek riveted, what happened?
kumquat:

On Sunday I went to Spanish Banks with my cousin's wife. My cousin would have come along, too, had he not spent the previous few days mowing an abandoned golf course in the hot sun. Anyways, the tide was out, so there was LOTS of beach to walk on. I love it when the tide's out. There's kilometers of beach and English Bay shrinks like...

Soon, I shall be famous in Japan!

Last night, my luthier buddy took me to some pub down in Gastown to see a Japanese metal band. They were good! They were damn good. If you're ever in Tokyo and you get the chance to see a band called New Breed, I recommend seeing them.

But here's the fun part and this is where I get...

I've inspired someone! (on another website)

On Pharyngula I was passing through,
And read some posts by one named Pough;
Misreading it, at first, as bough
I wondered if hed meant it Pough.
This thought led on to questions tough:
Should I, in fact, have read it Pough?
Tis dated now to write hiccough,
Thought, I doubt its Pough,
But rare tis not to get...

I'm somewhat in agreement on the HP front. 3 is both my fave of the books and the movies (thus far). However, the 1st 2 didn't actually leave me entirely cold. I was so desperate to visit Hogwarts and experience the world in a venue outside my imagination that I guzzled in the first 2 films like a parched nomad.
