By now everyone who cares should know how stupid I am and that my favourites spell my name - the same name scrawled all over my face. A name that's actually associated with the loss of my one-time best friend years ago. A former-friend who has, like me, been hooked up with a Japanese woman by a man who's still a friend in common to both of us. I met his girlfriend last year but I haven't seen him in about 6. She kept looking at me sideways, like she couldn't figure out why she'd never heard of me before. Or maybe wondering why I didn't seem to be as much of an asshole as D would probably say I am. I can be an asshole; I just wasn't to her. This wasn't even what I was going to write about and here I am at the end of a long paragraph!
I finally got around to posting the end of my Japan photos on my website. It took far longer than it should have. There are a few more, but half of them are uninteresting and the other half involve nudity. I'm not allowed to make those ones public. Subject gets changed to: Today I discovered that Google Maps has Japan, so I pored over maps of Sapporo to see where I've been. J's house and K's apartment were found. I can't find the beer museum or K's parents' place.
A few years ago, I read some little article somewhere about a new show that Joss Whedon was developing. I wasn't a Buffy or Angel fan, but the idea intrigued me. I have no idea why. So I waited for it to come on. It was a bit of a wait, but ended up worth it. No, wait. I missed all but the last 15 minutes of the first episode because we have satellite and the channel was an eastern one. Fucking eastern channels. I've missed more good shows because they come on 3 hours before I'm expecting them to,
I don't even know how many episodes I saw on tv. The DVD was mine as soon as it came out and I realized quickly that the show was even more amazing than I had thought. So I told some people about it. One of them is Hethral. I was going to lend him the set, but he just went out and bought it on my recommendation. Then he promptly got lots of other people to buy and love it. Meanwhile I was introducing it to another friend. He got his sister into it and the two of them are HUGE nerds. Thanks to them, I've seen Serenity twice already. And thanks to Hethral, I'll be seeing it for the third time before it's released. I read the script the other night. It has some very interesting scenes that they filmed but got cut.
That's enough for now. I'll leave you with THREE ducks with their bills in their crotches.
