*The gray house* is one of my favorite books, giving its unique narrative and the fact how the author can establish the whole picture from variety of inchorent pieces. The book is written by Russian-language novelist hence it might not be popular outside. I still recommend it though.
My second favorite is Ryū Murakami. The main idea of his novels is to delve into the dark topics - drugs, moral decay, absurd deaths.
