So my MBP has started doing something funny where it doesn't want to wake up from sleep. On occasion, I can shut it, and reopen to have my login screen appear, but other times I've got to hit the power button. It just started doing it last week. I don't know why! I really regret not sending it off to be repaired a few months ago when the fan started acting up. Don't they realize it's near impossible to be without a computer for an entire week when you do all of your work on it? Sigh. Now my warranty is expired. Are simple Apple repairs cheap? After the $850 iBook repair bill, I fear them. Edit: I ran a hardware test off the install disk and everything turned up peachy. Can the logic board be having issues while still passing the extended hardware test?

Ever meet someone that inspired you so much without any effort at all? I made acquaintance with Faruk Ates, thanks to iminlikewithyou.com (I still have invites, fyi), recently. Faruk is an expert in web standards and accessibility and just hearing his story really made me want to get back into it all again. About a year ago I really, really lost interest in doing anything web related. I think it was a result of depression after something sad happened to me last April. But now, after reminiscing about our starts, I think I miss it. I'd not realized how great an introduction to the world I'd gotten. In 2001, straight off I had to learn the WAI Guidelines, and assist in site evaluations, I was learning how important well formed code was, and separating style from content, not to mention building everything with people with disability in mind. In fact, at the University, that's what our department was all about. Research and development for people with disabilities. One of the big things I worked on was a web app for delivering online coursework.

I guess the reason I'm talking about all of this, and possibly boring y'all, is because I am actually really bored. I'm at one of those changing points. Each day is boring, yet stressful. It'd probably be a bit less stressful if people actually replied to their email. I don't feel like writing. It's like my creativity has completely disappeared. I no longer do things for sheer enjoyment. Sure, games count, but I don't even feel like turning on the 360 lately, unless it's to play a couple songs or maybe check on the gem trees. Shut up, I'm a girl, and girls sometime need to play games like Viva Pinata. I only wish more of my friends were on and wanted to play GRAW 2. Co-op missions with only 2 players really doesn't work too well. I tried playing WoW this weekend as well. Scopitone is 12 levels ahead of me, which served as some motivation, but after a couple months of not playing, it feels so tedious and kind of boring! If only I had a Bananas!

And AIM friends, don't worry, you aren't blocked or anything, if that thought crossed your mind, I'm just not in the mood for idle chitchats lately. I'm also still embarrassed after drinking too much a week and a half ago.

I get to be the Mac Chick of the Month for May over on Macenstein.com! smile

Here is Kittybutt, the office cat and Peeppee, the robot chick from Japan:

And thanks AceT for pointing me toward xkcd.

Your my favorite "Mac Chick of the Month" so far. I also didn't know you were a PHP developer. Neat, thats my current job although I program many other languages.

damn, being bored sucks. as far as i can tell, the best way to bust out of it is to find something that gives you a cool idea. personally Jose Lopez's stuff does it for me (I don't know what the webgirl / WoW fan's equivalent would be - I'm a Guild Wars man, but to each his own). I think that creativity has to be a more active process than most think it is. Eh.

and hey, if you don't mind giving a stranger an invite to iminlikewithyou (I'm curious), I wouldn't mind getting one. congrats on mac chick, btw!
