Robot induced Depression and Fear!
I was reading Age of Spiritual Machines by Ray Kurzweil last night. There is this timeline beginning with the birth of the universe and ending in 2049, when humans no longer exist as they do know, but are nearly robotic. The things he projects terrified me and depressed me!
I have to read this book for a class im taking called Aesthetics of New Media. I now fear that this class is going to be one giant bummer, instilling fear within me about THE RISE OF THE MACHINES!!!! We are also reading Neuromancer and Snow Crash!
Did you know that Robot is a word coined by a Czech writer?
In other news, I am going to a drag show tonight. It should be most interesting because I am dragging my slightly homophobic friend with me..I hope one of the queens dresses as Jason Voorhies in a prom dress!

I really don't think we need to worry about people becoming machines - may be we should worry about the reverse but I don't think that's gonna happen in our lfetimes.
