I'm very thankful that I've never had any "serious" insomnia. There've been times when I'd wake up after a couple hours worth of sleep and then cannot for the life of me get back to sleep... but never anything that's gone on for multiple days. Since I spent my life on the road, not sleeping would be incredibly dangerous.
Have you tried crashing support group meetings? Heh, well I guess that only works in the movies.
