this weekend was pretty hectic. boyfriend's family was in town for his grandpa's 80th birthday party, so we spent a lot of the time visiting with his mom and sister he hasn't seen in a year. i really like his family. and i adore his grandpa. he's always so nice to me, and gives me the biggest hugs when he sees me, and tells me i'm beautiful. he's like the sweetest old man i've ever met. i've kind of adopted him as my own grandpa since one of my grandpas died when i was 5, and the other was a complete bastard. everyone in his family is always really nice to me and makes me feel welcome. and i had fun listening to stories about when my boyfriend's dad was still alive.
we went to a really cool arcade too. and finally got "howl's moving castle." i love that movie so much. howl....*sigh*

I have always recanted stories of my youth to my kids when they were young. They used to get such a joy learning about who I really was as a young kid. Now I do the same with my grandkids. And I also tell them stories about their Mom when she was little. Of course, she (my daughter) usually butts in and says' "That's not true, Grandpa's fibbing!" It's so much fun watching them with so much laughter.
