Know how much I paid for all of that? Nada. I *heart* you, AppleCare.
The first battery was back in January/February time frame, and the Hard Drive was in April, but everything else got swapped out when I sent the laptop back last month. Like $2500 dollars worth of work for free. And now, three years on, I basically have a brand new laptop.
Fucking awesome.
Iraq, like usual, is frustrating as fuck. I'm pretty much sick of everyone in this country, be they American, Iraqi, Saudi, Iranian, what have you. Pretty much the only people who are cool in my book are the Ugandans who guard the compounds. They're getting on my shitlist now, though... We got a new girl in our shop. A very cute black girl named Kia. Well, I guess I can't blame the Ugandans, since she's the only girl in their demographic on the compound, but SHIT, take a picture, it'll last longer, dudes. I did learn some Swahili (I think)... Hakuna Pesa Hakuna Kuma... "No Money No Pussy" to that I say Hakuna Matada. Yeah. Dumb joke. Shutta yo' face.
I'm glad the "Seduce a SuicideGirl" app is only $.99. I'm not terribly impressed. When is the SG app hitting the stands? I mean, I understand you won't be able to look at the bewbs, but I at least want to be able to drop a line onto SGCO and tell Rick how much I fucking love the Barenaked Ladies.
I am tired of these four walls. Like whoah. I think I stayed in the Army for one year and one deployment too many. If there were any doubts about me getting out next fall, this deployment did it in. Some leadership issues, mostly at levels above my immediate one, and a lot of annoyance at my "peers" and "FID partners" are the culprits. Who knows when I'll be going home. Maybe December, maybe January, maybe March. It's awesome. You'd think that after almost seven years of being in this fucking country you'd have a system down. It's awesome to be part of the forces that will be the very last to draw down!
The blog started with GWAR's "The Road Behind" and now Ingrid Michaelson's version of "Can't Help Falling In Love"... I love putting my music on shuffle. Oh, and FUCK my coworker Ben for putting the intro riff to "The Final Countdown" in my head.
Anyway... Yeah. I am not unhappy, but I am meh, for certain. Nothing beers with the CO crue won't solve.
Peace, mud-flaps!
