Why am I not satisfied with my personal best?
Today I took the Army Physical Fitness Test. I haven't had one since January, so I was due. I did very well. 68 Push Ups, 76 Sit Ups, and 14:20 on my 2-Mile Run, for a score of 283 out of 300. The score in each event was high enough (93/100/90) to qualify me for "Excellence" when I get my next NCO Eval in January. It's better than any other test I've taken before. I've only ever scored higher (95) on the Push Ups once, and I've never maxed the Sit Ups before.
I'm still not happy with it.
This deployment has seen the birth of Fitness Dennis. Part of me REALLY wanted to max the whole thing, not just Sit Ups. The run is really what kind of bugs me. As recently as two years ago, I was routinely getting the maximum score, usually between 13:05 and 13:15. Being a minute slower than that, has been hard to deal with.
Eh. I'm happy with it, but I know I need to work on more.

I don't know about you and your expectations, but from where I'm standing you absolutely kicked high-holy butt on your fitness test.
