St. Pattys was a blast (I'm like 1/4 or something Irish so I can claim St. Patrick's day
) I drove home Wednesday night after a FANTASTIC riding lesson and hung out with my friends back home. I had to endure an encounter with the ex and the ex roommate
, but I think I was civil enough, at least, I was good enough to not be catty. The ex showing back up to the bar later in the evening (after running away when I walked in the door) put a damper on all the fun flirting I was having, but I still had a great time. Got my paper work done for the name change and now I'm just waiting on things to go through on the official end, which will apparently take months. Yippee. But at least things are in the process!
Today at the rescue I hand fed Izzy, our often sickly Tiger, which was lovely. She is so delicate! Then a caracal surprised me and I nearly lost my sneaker!! (Oh side note: does no one say sneaker? I told my niece on Thursday to get her sneakers and she asked me what I meant). Had a blast laughing at a ocelot who was tossing around a rabbit ear that I gave her as if she was playing volley ball.
Rest of the day today was a bit blagh, still feeling off kilter from the sinus thing. except for this bit of excitement which I am copying and pasting from a note I made on fb:
So the case of the mysteriously disappearing side view mirror has been SOLVED!! A few months ago I was driving down US1 and suddenly realized that my left side view mirror was just gone. No idea how it happened, I just suddenly noticed it wasn't there. I naturally assumed that maybe someone had hit it in the parking lot at school somewhere. Until today. I went to dinner with my aunt and uncle, and as we're returning up the driveway I see a flash in one of the trees lining the driveway. I jump out of the car and lo and behold: My left side view mirror is happily perched in it's branches. I must have backed too close into the tree on my way to school that morning and knocked it off that way. This could only happen to me. I swear I have the most RANDOM life ever.
Is that not hilarious? My life never ceases to amaze me.
I've been trying to kick my externship/job seeking into gear. I am really way behind on finding a job for the summer, and no externship means no graduation in August. So I'm trying to spread my net pretty wide and find a place, ANY place regardless of location. There are some places that I would really love to work, places I would love to live in, and then a place where living would be convenient to my riding but that's about all it has for me. I really need to find a hospital that will pay me, but do you have any idea how much it sucks to have to call places and say "Hey I need you to hire me so I can graduate and even though you don;t have any job openings can you pay me too?" Obviously that's not really what I say, but thats the gist of it. If when it gets crunch time and I can't find a paying position I will obviously take anything I can get. But in order to get to adopt Ezra, I need a place to live where I can keep him, which means making some form of $$$. I am also planing on going around to some local tattoo/piercing shops around here and trying to get a job as a piercer. I mean c'mon, I'm very experienced with needles and very well trained in aseptic technique. Yeah I may have to handle some strangers strange anatomy, but I'm also a professional. I think I would be good at it and it would be something I could do part time and in the evenings/weekends.
Ok so on an off note, I also go to play with snakes, a rabbit, a pathologically orgasmic cockatiel, ferrets, a freaky iguana, and a shy hedgehog at school on Friday. A local exotics vet came to our school and showed us a lot of neat stuff. The bird kinda freaked me out a little, the iguana too, but I ADORE snakes and rabbits. I will attempt to get some pics up some time!
Ok now I SWEAR I am going to do some freaking studying!! I have spring fever and senioritis soo bad and most of my grades lately have been C's. I need to step up my game and get organized.
