I have just spent the morning at a local university speaking with the Philosophy Dept. faculty. I am considering going back to school. Clearly, I have gone insane and will need to be hospitalized before I actually fill out financial aid forms. When I picture myself at 976 absorbing the works of Plato, I am nearly orgasmic. But when I picture myself staring at a tuition bill my mood changes to a rather nauseous feeling related to having eaten way too much fondue at a dinner party while 15 guests wait outside the bathroom door....
Philosophy degrees lead to other narrow roads, I'm told. Teaching (which is not unappealing), Law (slightly unappealing) or Writing (which I already do). The thing is, I am becoming addicted to learning. I am also addicted to film, but that desire is more expensive to pacify. If I had my way, I'd major in philosophy and minor in documentary film. And all would be paid for by my madly successful writing career. Meanwhile, my painfully swank boyfriend would cook me veggie burritos and play with my hair while I organized our enormous music collection. Getting carried away, eh? I wish.
Changed my pic. I call that one "Butter" hee hee.

Best of luck with your current decisions & subsequent life. I respect philosophy. It's the verbal equivalent of mathematics. And everyone respects math.

Well I think it's great that you are addicted to learning. If you feel that's the trail you should follow, go for it! It's great to learn and to have that atitude like you have. Wish you luck!
