A few thoughts of Dark Knight Rising. Read spoilers at your own risk.
Not perfect, but intense and well constructed.

Bane: Ebert and some others complained he wasn't as charismatic as the Joker, but I don't see how he could have been. I don't think they tried. No one could live up to Ledger, and that's fine. What Bane was was intense. He was pure purpose, even when we did not know what that purpose was.
Selina: I like how cheeky she was, but I wish she could show off that personality a little more in the last half. I almost felt like she broke with Batman.
Talia: I agree with whoever said her only motivation was revenge being a little disappointing, but I guess I should have known from the beginning. That bit on the plane where one of Bane's/Talia's men stayed behind to die showed how devoted they were.
But what I am most jazzed and frustrated with is how they made a big screen version of the No Man's Land story arc. For non-geeks, Gotham gets fenced in for boring reasons. The few cops left, criminals and Batman's Rogue gallery all become street gangs and take territories for a year. It's cool to see a film version of it, but it could have been something bigger and cooler if they expanded it. (The only hint left of it being Selina talking about "her" neighborhood.)
