When I went to India, I experienced such true poverty, and I could see the ramifications of the US's centricinty, and I thought what a strange, different place. But as I stayed longer, I realized, there isn't much of a difference. We are still all humyn beings and capable of the same emotions. You could still realize the hardships they have endured, you can still realize how much they love their spouse and children as much as we. We, the privileged that grew up in the US and other dominant cultures. Those people I met, were so much more giving than most of the people in the US I have met, except perhaps RVA, I'd say they were on par to a degree. People in different cultures feel no less, people in other cultures experience the same feelings of helplessness, and people in other cultures experience love no less!!! We are entitled to give back what we consume in finances to help those less enfranchised, because they are still people.
