Last Thursday we finally went to La Paloma. It's an old theatre that's more than a century old. Luckily it's open again. They closed it some weeks ago due to people living in the surroundings complaining about noises, but it seems it's a fixed issue. We already knew about it, as we suffered an attack from the neighbourgs some time ago.
It was the day I was turning 30. During a few days we had to work until 2 in the morning because we were helping a customer in a product implementation, and it was a big bank in Chile, so we had to adapt to their working hours. When we were over, we went to La Paloma. It seems neighbours were really pissed off, and some of them spent the whole week keeping the urine of their dogs in buckets and they threw it to the first big group of people walking in front of their balcony. You can guess what group I'm talking about. It's not the best way to get into your 30's!!!!!
Let's forget the issue. Before going to La Paloma, we use to go to a place called Groucho's, in Tallers. It's a funny place for two things. One, it's really cheap. At least in Barcelona there are not many places where you can drink an absolute with orange for 3 euros. Two, the owner is a weird guy. I don't know if he's always drunk, or maybe it's due to drugs. The fact is he's always doing strange things. If he thinks your group's ok, he'll be very very nice. But from time to time he begins to shout to someone without reason. It's difficult to explain. You have to see it with your own eyes. But it's always fun.
