The rest of Li's top ten list.. Feel free to counter, I heart the comments from you crazy porn kids:
BIGGEST LOSS OF 2004:
Creativity -- wow there was a lot of crap stuff out this year. There, I said it.And you were thinking it, so don't hate, bitches.
BEST MOVIES OF 2004 (that I saw, and I sadly didn't see many):
1. Hellboy. AW YEAH!!! Guillermo del Toro is the MAN! If you haven't seen The Devil's Backbone or Kronos, take yo ass to the video store right now and think about what you've done.
2. Eternal Sunshine... was great visually and worth seeing, but not really likable characters.
3. Kill Bill Vol 2. Very satisfying ending.
4. The Saddest Music in the World. Yummy older chick Rosselini has crystal legs filled with beer, yo How can you go wrong!!!!
5. Mean Girls. "Ti-na Fey! Ti-na Fey!"
ITS NOT CITIZEN CANE BUT I LAUGHED ME ARSE OFF:
"Dodgeball." No joke. Just for Ben Stiller's HAIR.
MOVIES THAT SUCKED (meaning I did not even bother because the previews were painful enough):
"Catwoman"
"Van Helsing"
"SuperBabies 2" -- wait, there was a first?
FAB TV:
"Arrested Development," Adult Swim, Family Guy reruns, Star Trek Enterprise. "Chappelle's Show!!"
THE ONE BOOK YOU SHOULD BUY ASAP:
"America the Book." I spit coffee onto someone while reading this on the el, I was laughing so hard.
BEST SHOWS:
The Melvins @ Double Door (Jello Biafra came up for the last part of the show and the Melvins did the Dead Kennedys great Justice. I could have died that night on my motorcycle ride home, as life was complete).
Evil Beaver/The Countdown, Metro
The A Frames, Fireside Bowl. Dude, I can TOALLY see a future world.
BEST THINGS TO HAPPEN TO ME IN 2004
5. Attending the the ceremony where Jamie's dad was the first journalist to be inducted into the US Soccer Hall of Fame. The coolest, yo.
4. Friendster and Suicide Girls -- Great friends made from both sites.
3. The Skylark. Booze, food and nice folks on Cermak & Halsted. Heaven, thy name is the Danotini.
2. Getting laid off. Although I miss my friends, I had the kind of rock star summer that most folks usually have in college. And I rode my motorcycle throughout the whole thang. Woo hoo!
1. Getting engaged and becoming domestic (seriously, I learned how to garden this year!). Jamie kicks ass, even more than planting veggies.
AND, THE THING I'M ALREADY EXCITED ABOUT FOR 2005?
The Return of Dr. Who!!! AW YEAAAAAAH! I am SUCH a geek!!!! AAAAAH!

i like Guillermo del Toro a lot..he is very talented. tell me more about the skylark....any big plans for the week???
ok babe..read you soon...
As for your lists...without breaking things down too much...Van Helsing was AWFUL and I wanted to kick a whole in the TV because of it. I had heard rumors it was bad so I skipped it in the theaters, but couldn't resist borrowing a friend's DVD. IT SUCKED SO BAD!
How was it offset? "Garden State" was absolutely fine. I'm excited about it coming out on DVD and I purchased the soundtrack approximately 10 minutes after I walked out of the theater. Good stuff.
Gotta run but wanted to say hi. Fly to Pittsburgh on Saturday for Sunday's game.
