OK, it is really freakin' beautiful and quiet here in CT. And, after yesterday, it's a welcome change.

Get this: Someone stole our nonprofit group's mail from our office building in downtown Chicago, then disguised themselves as a courier and basically sold it back to us. That is the short version, the long version is even more ridiculous.

There is a special place in hell for people who steal from nonprofit groups. I mean, we give poor families in the US and Latin America a chance to have decent dental care instead of being in constant pain from their teeth rotting out, for fuck's sake. What did he get, something that would last maybe a day, more like a few hours? A nice rock or two to smoke? A couple bags of heroin? A case of domestic crap-ass beer? Jeebus!

Update/silverlining/whatever: Jamie's mom gave me a lovely ring to use as an engagement ring so my sister will stop nagging me! It's an amethyst set in a circle of diamonds, very cutie -- it was a gift from his paternal grandmother to her. I heart his parents, they are such wonderful and supportive people. And I love Dupper so much I could just run and smooch him right now. Excuse me, dear readers...
