"If you could go back in time and change one thing in your life what would it be?"
If I could go back in time and change one thing, I would spend more time with my grandpa in Tennessee. Now that I'm older and I have some of his possessions to look at and hold, I see and understand how amazing he was. He spoke more languages than I can count, traveled EVERYWHERE and enjoyed life. I was young, and took for granted the time I had with him a few times a year. I could have learned so much from him. Not that I think he would see me now and be disappointed, but had I gotten more time with him, I'd probably know where I wanted to be in life... And be there. I know he probably would have kicked my ass into high gear and made sure I succeeded at whatever I did. He was the most intelligent person I will ever come in contact with, guaranteed. It's strange how bothered I am by the fact that he's gone. We were close to strangers before he passed, but I how the most vivid memories of the times I was around him.
When I was in the 4th grade I had a project where I had to chose a country to study and do a report on. My grandfather was in New Zealand and sent me everything I needed including hand carved totems!
My grandfathers death was the hardest of them all. Though I barely saw him, it felt like our family fell apart when he left.
