Well, I have just had a fucking amazing streak that kicked off last friday (see last journal for friday details).
Saturday I went back to my alma mater and hung out with my fraternity brothers who, interestingly enoug, are mostly chicks. One of my brothers has a part in the Vagina monolgues, which we saw. Fun play, I liked it.
The audience was pretty raucous, whooping and hollering when city names were said, or certain political points werer made. My favorite was this:
Actress: "It is Illegal in Ohio, Alabama, Missippi, and Texas to buy a vibrator"
Audience: BOO
Actrees: "In these same sates, it is LEGAL to buy a gun!"
Me: *clapping*
audience: *WTF???*
Sunday I went down to Arlington, Va to see a show at Iota. Gingersol opened, and MAry Lou Lord headlined! I've been wanting to see her since I was in High School, but she only cmae to the area twice, both at over-21 joints. No problemo this time! I even got a chance to chat with her, she took one of my song requests, and signed a cd! Very cool.
Monday, the SKA is DED tour made it's way to DC. I was amazing, the club was packed with kids. Looks like Irina was right, ska is in for a major comback. The Planet Smashers opened (anothjer act I've been wanting to see since 1998), followed by Big D & the Kids Table (pop-punk-ska, not so good), followed up by Mustard Plug and Catch 22, over all one outrageously awsome show. It felt like it was 1977 all over again. Only this time, with SKA!
Tuesday, I stayed home.
Tonight, I got an invite to an exclusive soiree, and mingled with various VIPS including my personal heros Sen. John McCain, and Speaker Denny Hastert! How cool is that?
Wow, now back to the mundane world of being unemployed.

Anyway, I've got that piece written; let me know where/when to send it. Cites are in Chicago/APA style, hope that works for you (I can Blue Book them, but I need to dig up the format).
