Last night was possibly the best night at Quarantine I've had. Certainly Top 5 material at the least.
It was uniform theme night, so cue a host of people dressed as schoolkids, doctors, policemen, workmen, cub scouts, maids, and even a couple of B&Q workers! Yours truly was decked out in a tres smart grey military jacket and smart trousers/shirt. It was nice to be able to dress up so smartly... Some people said I looked like a Nazi, but obviously I'd only have joined for the uniform, to get hot chicks. Got quite a few compliments and Dave took my photo for the website, so I'll post a link when it goes up (if it's a good one!).
Lizie had found her old sash from brownies (apparently the uniform still fits, albeit a little tighter...) and we met everyone at the Tumbley beforehand. She was looking fine, fresh from the Phillipines and with uber-red hair that looked very nice (although the stupid hairdressers burned her scalp with the dye). And she brought me tea (oolong and pu li)! Woo!
So yes, got to Q and I think the majority of us got in free, even Kate (so nice to have her visiting us!) bluffing her way in as a jockey due to her carrying Debbie, a 'My Little Pony' doll. The poor thing, it barely survived Reading, but now had an eyepatch and a leopard-print scarf. Punk! Also had a little friend in the form of Babe the Pig, although I don't know how well it survived as the last time I saw it it had already been burnt twice, and that was hardly halfway through the night!
The guest DJ played a real grab bag of stuff, but cunningly (and awesomely) threw in occasional TV theme tunes like Thomas the Tank Engine, Captain Planet, a song from Aristocats, Sesame Street... so cool!
The rest of the night was a bit of a whirl. Here's a few random snippets:
- Dancing with Christine and Laura at different points was hella fun. We were all pretty drunk so were just really having fun and grinning at each other when our fave songs came up (They played Fall Out Boy twice!).
- Jenzo trying to steal Sam's trousers, then Lizie and Laura trying to steal Jenzo's shirt. It's all karma, man...
- Lizie molesting the Wives with Sarah's little duster, and everybody going after each other with Christy's squeaky baton. A prop in many a dodgy sight that night, for sure...
- 'Lemon Flavoured Horse Pussy' was pretty damn memorable, coming out of a tryst between Debbie, Babe, and a slice of lemon. Also found it's way onto Lucy's leg...
- Old scout guy! He kept dancing in the middle of our group and wheeling past periodically. Why do we always attract these people?
- I'm pretty sure about half a dozen people have pictures of me looking like a spazz, especially some iffy ones of Ian and I... I look forward to seeing those!
- Lizie and I also danced in super-cool punchy-punchy style to 'Eye of the Tiger', because we're fucking awesome.
Ah man, the whole atmosphere was just so good, pretty much everyone having a good time I think, and a great way to spend my last Friday before I go back to Uni.
Only drawbacks were some drunk retards who were practically moshing in the dancefloor so we had to kinda form a bit of a barrier to keep them away. Got a few drinks down myself that way... Oh, and the place was rammed meaning a half hour queue for a drink. Ridiculous! You'd think that'd have meant I drank less, but you'd be hells of wrong.
Actually, I'd better get my A into G and get ready to see kirsten and Danielle in Reading for lunch, see a man about a phone, then pack! Then go out again! Argh!
P.S. The Wives are ace people, fo' sho'.
