Me and You and Everyone We Know is very beautiful, and you should watch it because it's worth watching.
I've read Miranda July's short story collection No One Belongs Here More Than You, and it's interesting to see the similarity in tone and the source of vision that each expresses.
It's an unconventional film, one of those quiet and unassuming ones that, simply by taking these mundane lives and giving them a little twist, these odd relationships seem to speak about something else, something bigger. Themes and strands and lines that all stand out and aren't just strange or quirky.
Different forms of love, the things that mean the most to people, adolescence and before, and after. And it all works really well.
I want to say that one scene in particular was superb. It's almost true but really it's a whole sequence of sublime, memorable moments. The art, the tree, the windows...
This film is a succession of beautiful moments.
Be beautiful, see it soon.
