I managed to get a day off this week due to over staffing at the bar. I think I needed it.
Its been a long hard week work wise. The main job is fine, and aside from the guy I work with who appears to only work at one speed (slow), its a piece of piss. Downside is, the overtime. In 5 days I clocked up 24 hours' worth. That means I never got out of the house apart from to go to work, and I hate that. Even if its just to go see a film, I need to get out a few times a week now, or I'll become a complete hermit.
The reason I'm doing this is so I can go see someone in the States. They are important to me, and I want to let them know that in person, at least once. I think I screwed that up this week too. We haven't spoke directly since it happened, and I don't have a clue what I would say to them even if we did. So, chances are, the trip is borked and I'll lose a good friend over this.
I've been thinking about the rest of America for a trip. Barrow (technically in Alaska) would be very interesting, as I have an interest in how certain people survive in challenging conditions.
Another passing thought I had was moving. Not to the states, but somewhere nicer than Reading. There's a lot of really nice places in England still, and I wanna enjoy a quieter and more natural place while its still there.
