So... in order to student teach in the fall I have to fill out this application (no biggie), get fingerprinted at the STL metro police department (Okay), get a T.B. test (inconvenient, but whatever) and then write an ESSAY on "why I want to be a teacher" AND put together an academic resume.
Not heavy weight stuff but all shit I found out I have to do within the next week to a week and a half...
And all I wanna do is sit in my new desk chair and write write write...
Got 80 pages completed in what is to be a 120 page script.
Then it's on to the 3rd novel, which is going to be a short OLD MAN AND THE SEA, HEART OF DARKNESS 100 pages or so affair...
Well, Wednesday I worked 9-4 and split my finger open on a Chef Boayrdee mini can when I was opening it for lunch.
SUCKED!
Now I have this huge ass gash in 4th finger on my left hand.
Thursday went to class and stayed in that night, drank a glass of Absinthe and watched a movie called THIS GIRL'S LIFE... James Woods was fuckin' awesome in that movie... it was also just a pretty interesting slice-of-life movie.
Friday I didn't work, but woke up and wrote about 5 pages and then was called to go out with my boy John Stricker.
He got me high and we saw HIDE AND SEEK.
He hated it, I liked it.
I mean, seriously, it wasn't great but it was pretty damn decent IMO.
Good suspense and the mood was appropriatley dreary and bleak.
And Dakota Fanning is the shit, dude!
De Nire was also in good form and, as always, the sleek and lovley Famke Jenssen.
The end was not so good and kinda fell apart and was a bit ludicrous but at least they got everything up until then right.
After that it was drinking at a few local bars (Nicke's Pub and Cusumano's) and then more smoking and I hit the hey around 2am...
Nice night.
It also snowed a bunch, which was great... nice light snow... nothing violent or blizzard-like.
What is it with this new trend of preppy, suburban dudes walking around with the collars of their Polos and Izods turned UP. Like they're James Dean?
Well, tonight I go home to a bowl of Ramen and some Boone's Farm to watch W.S. Burroughs: COMMISSIONER OF SEWERS and read my book.
Then next week I'm getting my shit wired for student teaching and doing homework for class... more reading, more writing, more tapping my feet in anxiety over the burgeoning Pro-Pain show in Chicago...
I'm also super psyched for Suffcation (w/ Black Dahlia Murder ) in a week!
Molly has some time off in early February and I'm trying to convince her to fly down and see me...
Might happen!
Other than that my goth dream girl is workin' tonight at Camille La Vie but has yet to cross my store front and visit me.
Not that it matters.
I'm just gonna wimp out and not say shit to her...
Whateva!
Crowbar has a new album coming out. Think I'm gonna give it a chance!
And I think I'll read Barker's ARABAT books after I finish my Matheson-Bloch marathon I'm reading now...
But aside from this materialistic bullshit my life is boring as shit!
I mean, I'm excited about my art, and about school and the trip to Chicago, but really it is a boring, gray, and kinda aimless Winter...
