Today has been almost a perfect birthday. This past week leading up to today, I gave taken day trips to Crawfordsville and Richmond Indiana last weekend, received two new chef knives, a decorating spoon set, two of the three shirts I ordered, and have bought 6 new books plus received 2 new cook books from Amazon. Spent the day with my aunts and grilled out and will go home to experiment with fondant icing and make candied pecans.
But with a beautiful birthday weekend comes the pain of my city and the nation in the forms of riots for Mr. Floyd. I am deeply saddened and grieving not only for the loss if his and others lives, but of the pain our cities and nation is going through lashing out, frustrated that even shouting out is not being heard. Downtown Indianapolis has had rioting the last two nights destroying business and lives, one being my restaurant ( which was only vandalized with Graffiti). It devistates me that a state with the motto Hoosier hospitality hurts so bad that the citizens, and other cities, are rioting to be heard.
Everyone please stay safe out there. Stay safe for you, stay safe for your families, heal your hearts and soul. I value and appreciate each one of you
