My thesis is due on wed. It will be done on time.
WITHOUT any weird, non-eucledian sanity warping rituals on my part. Cthulhu rests....
The cost of getting this thing done is of course the complete evaporation of my social life (well, except for shows and gaming ) and my complete inability to go camping this fall. I REALLY wanted to get down to Shenadoah this year to climb Old Rag and see the trees. I might still do it this upcomming weekend, but the color peak has passed apparently
Between the 27th, when I turn in my thesis, and the 10th when I defend, all I have to do is make my presentation, which should only take a day or so. So I'm gonna have some time on my hands. Here is my partial list of things to try and do...
1. The new American Indian museum opened recently, so I should go check it out.
2. The Air and Space museum's Udvar-Hazy center will open another wing on the 1st. I'll get to walk all the way around a space shuttle, AND see the gemini VII capsle
3. Beat the original NES metroid again
4. finish reading the "Preacher" comic series (coldmonkey, I'm looking at you)
5. get around to seeing the eye doctor about my potential corneal abrasion
Any other ideas for fun stuff to do in my time off???
Edited to say: DOH!, next weekend is H-ween. Not gonna go hiking then!

i just prefer to think of autumn as summer in its death throes, all scientific explanations aside.
