I've been meaning to update this and tell about my awesome and slightly hectic weekend spent with the lovely troupe know as the SGB, but my computer's been on the fritz so this is the first opprotunity I've had.
We went in DrGonzo2000's truck. A '90 Ford Ranger with no A.C. or C.D. player. We made it about 30 miles from Tampa when the truck completely shut off. After about an hour and many liters of transmission fluid later we made it. I should mention to that it was about 4 billion degrees outside.
While in St. Petersburgh (which is a 15 mile bridge ride from Tampa) we were asking around for a decent hotel and we were told to stay clear of the Ponce DeLeon hotel unless we had $30 and wanted a good time. I saw the gleam in Doc's eye but we were not there for that.
After waiting outside for about an hour or so listening to some fucking guy say "I've never heared of the Suicide Girls but they sound like a crazy band" the show was on the way.
Reagan and RavenIsis did an awesome Goldfinger dance and later at one point Reagan grabbed my head. Rock on Reagan! Nixon did a friggin awesome dance with a black cloak, Pearl had a killer hoola hoop thing going on and Stormy poured chocolate on me and Doc's head. Stormy spent beer in the crowd to She Shook Me. Well shit I don't want to give away the whole show but it fucking rocked put it that way. When Pearl signed my poster she told me I cleaned up very well.
After the show I talked to Nick and Aaron from Whole Wheat Bread. Those guys are the JAM. They played at the first Sg show too.
The next day we drove to Gainsville and got there 6 hours before the show. We drove around killing time while other people on the road kept pointing out that we were leaking transmission fluid. Thanks pal, drive on. To kill time we saw the Garfield movie. Doc is embarrased by this so I'll say it again. GARFIELD (and it was his idea).
THe second show was great too. Shera wasn't there though because she was sick.
Get well soon Shera. I was dowsed with choc. again. I got all of the ladies to sign my shirt. Reagan signed it "Reagen hates chocolate".
