so it's tuesday and i am just now updating about saturday night. i miss at home internet.
so saturday night i worked at Uno's and for the first time i was on the patio. very different. people were a bit more chill and more likely to tip, which was nice. it was me and this kid named Joe, whom i get along with quite well. things were going great until Joe wanted to leave early. He was a double, it was 9:30pm, and the patio closes at 11pm. so i said sure. it had died down. i thought i would be fine. WRONG. we got a bit of a rush due to HFStival and soon i had seven tables at once. ridiculous. i kept telling the hosts to give me less tables and more time, but they had pressure from the manager on duty to seat me, so i was screwed. food was late. people got pissed. my tips lagged in my last hour. i got through it, tho, and walked away with a pretty good chunk of change.
after work, me and my boy headed to the SGDC game night/sleepover party, which was quite fun. i played star guitar and DDR. strip connect four was resurrected. because i hadn't eaten, i got drunk off of two beers. it was great.
everyone kept saying i looked good, which i think was of a mix of my weightloss and how happy i've been with my boy. we all turned in around 5am, which didn't keep me from waking up at 10am. stupid Sarcadian rhythm. we all chatted for a bit before heading out for breakfast a few blocks from Saint's place.
after breakfast, tho, me and the boy had to head out. i had work which sucked . they didn't schedule me for it, but i had to close anyway. within the first 15 to 20 mins i had 4 tables. at one point, i had all 6 of my tables filled. i was running around like a mad woman. somewhere in the middle of my shift, i decided to quit Uno's. the pressure and stress just didn't seem worth it. we closed at 1am. i didn't leave til 2:30am. granted, i left with the most money i've ever made for a sunday, but given the opportunity i would have left with half the money and my nerves still intact.
so i thought i was going to quit...until i called up my credit card company today and found out my card is overdrawn. i am in a serious financial shitter right now. both my credit cards are overdrawn. i have to pay rent and a security deposit by the first ($1100). i'm paying half the utilities, whatever they end up being. and i have a dental appointment on thursday where i have to pay $750 for a crown to be put on my tooth. things are just horrible in the way of money for me right now.
so i'm not quitting Uno's. i put in to have my availability changed. now i only work two shifts a week, friday and saturday lunch. i think i can handle that. i can't afford to not have that job. i picked up two shifts this week. i will probably pick up more than that next week. i will make it known i want people's hours. i just can't commit to a set schedule that is any more than that. my ass will be working as much as i can without killing myself in the next month or two. i know i can get through this. i just have to stay calm, focused, and not kill anyone acting like an ass when i serve them.
wish me luck all.

And it was Guitar Hero, not star guitar (which I've never heard of...).
Ack. I got all happy when I read that you're quitting Uno's, till I read on.
Sucks about the Uno's situation. Just keep pushing through. Money stuff works itself out.
