Thanks for any thoughts and prayers for my roommate. He's still with his family leaving me to occupy this apparment by myself. I decided I need to get out more so I jumped at the invitation to go to the Nationals game last night. RFK looks great from a half mile away. I mean it's a really good looking arena. I'll give it a quater mile even. But once you're next to it, you see how old it is. The design is pretty interesting, the way they have these long ramps to the upper decks and the boxes. But that's a horrible place for baseball. I only like the fact they have a meadow for an outfield. I like seeing the extra base hits.
College = non stop socializing.
Here = time for adjustment. More time alone will be good. But it takes some getting used to. I know a couple dozen people in the area so it's not too bad.
I was reading gumbercules81's journal. He has a long prose poem talking about being the "friend" and not the boyfriend. I'd like to think that I've grown up and gotten past some of the realities of the world. It inspired me to think of one of my crazy analogies.
Dogs bark up the wrong trees all the time.
So when's the last time you saw someone say,
"Now that's a loyal dog. That's dedication."
Sadly, you don't. Ever.
Because no matter how loyal you are,
it's still the wrong damn tree.
Confession of the day; I'm often still a dog.
