Man, I miss the days of mixtapes. It was such a magical era. I remember sitting for hours, trying to find the right song to envoke the right emotions. Just sitting down and writing down the songs on the cassette inserts, putting little stars next to the songs that mean the most to you... to show your true feeling. I really miss those times. I think John Cusack had it right in High Fidelity.
I'm making a mixed CD now for my heart =) and it just doesn't feel the same. You don't have to sit though the song and feel your eyes well up with tears as you wear your heart on your sleeve. I don't know. It's just totally different. It's not a well thought up thing. I guess I can make an insert for the CD but it doesn't really feel like i'm putting much into it. You just move songs from your playlist and hit the "burn" button. How easy is that?
I want to go back to the days of mixtapes. Too bad I don't own a decent tape player anymore
