I'm not much of a T.V. watcher. Last weekend I was in Arizona visiting my Moms and Dads.
The 'Rents are big T.V. watchers. You name it they watch it. Usuaully when I go home it drives me nuts. I hate telivision. I'm a movie nut. I own 1200 DVD's. 'Nough said.
So last Sunday my Dad made an awesome meal. daddy is a world class cook. He is an Immagrant from Palermo, Sicily. So let me just say growing up there was an abundance of awesome food.
So stuffing ourselves away Dad puts on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.
I'm in love with this show now. There's something about watching these families that are so great and heartfelt get thier community behind them and have Dream Homes built. Just having an amzing place to call home makes all their recent troubles, life threatening illness go away for those moments when the Makeover Team reveals thier new home. It was an amazing episode. And I'm watching it again this week.
Sure the show is overdramitized and the hosts are kinda goofy, but I beleive they're sincere. And I think what they do is amazing.
In a time of war, terror, racial tension and unemployment at a high it's nice to see that their are people who care and have love and respect for each other.
We should all be this way I think. Do we need to go build houses for people no, help them remolder their kitchens...no. But anything we do...wether it's a small feat or a gigantic one it...the point is to care and make a difference.
I love this show...for the people. And I'm gonna keep watching.
Give it a go if you havent already.
Ty Pennington...you rule buddy.
