i havent seen the DVD in it but my friend ben was on it..he was the one doing the "can I have this chair" skit by himself. my shoulder is in it. tongue he said the cut it really weird to make him look like a total drunken idiot and that the whole thing was basically sub pop making total asses out of everyone. i wasn't so stoked on that idea but i havent seen it yet, so i am going to have to wait to make a permanent decision.

I'm slightly bothered sometimes by the ass-kissery put on two certain SGs all the time, and another who's ass-kissed some of the time... the former two SGs, I don't mind; I just think ass-kissery is silly in excess. The latter I'm speaking of is the only SG I actively dislike... you noticed I'm not naming anyone? Funny, I hadn't noticed... none of them are in your SG Favorites, nor in mine, I'll just leave it at that.

I'm trying to think of something specific I don't like about the site, but all I can think of is just some comments/ opinions annoy me from time to time (which falls under the So What? category of Things In Life), sometimes the Threads are hyper-boring (falls under Just Shit That Occasionally Happens category), and it seems folks aren't around on the weekend (falls under one or both of those categories).

Santa was good to me this year; a new watch, a giftcard to Virgin, the "LOTR: Twin Towers" Special Edition DVD, a book on Edward Gorey, a digital camera (Ifinally!!!) and a flat screen TV (!!!!). That Santa guy is pretty swell..

My gifts are in crazybob's Journal, plus I got a DVD player and a couple books: Garcia Marquez autobio and Michael Moore's book. While often sharing views with Moore, I have to say his writing is just too... vitriolic in an unimpressive way. I mean, as bitchy as Chris Hitchens can be in some essays and live debates, Moore is even ruder most of the time in Dude, Where's My Country?. I just think there's a balanced, professional, intelligent way to critique George Bush Jr. Running around calling him "chickenshit" is not balanced, professional, or intelligent. Accurate, yes, but please, let's keep it b, p, and i.

Resorting to swearing just isn't stylish or couth, and will get you nowhere.... except on Def Comedy Jam.

Lots of people want flat-screen TVs, but I want a bulbous-screen TV.

edit ps - and btw, I'm not a total hypocrite for wanting to hear the new Quasi song where they cuss out Georgy Jr, because... well, in a rock record, you can swear about politics, it's just that in a book you should.... I dunno, I think you oughta use more thoughtful language. Maybe Moore should join a rock band.... I know he likes Grand Funk Railroad, maybe he could join them... did you know that GFR has a pro-gun-ownership song? Yep, "Don't Let 'Em Take Your Gun."

One of these days I will have a DVD player and hopefully will be able to rent this Mr. Show. I never saw it, as I assumed it was as bad as every other HBO show... but seeing some interviews with Mr. Cross, and some heralding of him on SG, I should see him sometime soon.
(Actually, the couple times I saw it, Six Feet Under had some good bits, here 'n there...)
