I'm taking a break from working on my novel to watch some of the new Curb Your Enthusiasm on DVD. Larry David is great, but I'm wondering if the joke is beginning to wear itself thin...
I'm obsessed with the tragedy in NO, as a lot of you are. Three girls came to Red Hook from NO and are now homeless, with only the clothes on their back. Luckily they left when warned, but still....what do they do now, with nothing to go back to? They've been coming into the Pioneer Bar every night, where the staff have been graciously giving them booze for sanity. If you're up for it, stop in the Pioneer Bar to wish them the best (Pioneer St and Van Brunt St, Red Hook, Brooklyn).
I can't stand the government of this country. It makes me feel sick.

brooklynbabe:
That is very depressing. I hope they can get some sort of help soon.
