someone in NHS posted this about the applying for a job at Kaplan thing, I thought it might be of use to you:

I don't work there anymore but it's an alright place to work in most cities and the best thing is that the job travels with you if you move to a city with any kind of decent college.

the interview---
You have to teach the other applicants something for 5 minutes. Anything not academic. I did "How to dye your hair". People do "How to run a marathon" all the time.
Tips--
-Most people with teaching experience do a good job,
-STAY WITHIN THE 5 MINUTE TIME LIMIT
not a 100 percent necessity but it'll give you an edge on people who don't
-CALL ON PEOPLE--you get judged on participation
-IT'S OK TO GO IN LOOKING LIKE A FREAK--I did.
-WRITE ON THE BOARD.
-DON"T TEACH A RECIPE--they get that all the time
-DON"T DO MASSAGE--they won't let you touch each other
if you have any questions about Kaplan, ask, i am the total fucking expert.
