So I had my JET interview today. It went pretty well, but some of the stuff they asked really threw me for a loop. I was expecting things like:
"How do you think your experiences as a (blank) will help you in this program?"
"What do you think the role of a cultural ambassador entails?'"
"What do you want to accomplish as a JET?"
and so on. but instead I got:
"Describe/explain an American Holiday."
"How are Japan and America the same?"
"How will you deal with not knowing Japanese, other than taking language courses?"
Tough crowd.
So I did my best, and I know I'm qualified. I only hope that the questions I was asked demonstrate that fact. It's up to them to not fuck this up and give me my job.
So with the efficiency and wisdom of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in mind, and the knowledge that they will do the right thing, I stand by my assertion: I am a Japan-going motherfucker, motherfucker. You see if I'm not.
