My favourite month of the year (I'm biased cause it's my birthday) is now here! Lots of fun stuff happens during Feb. Super Bowl Sunday, Valentines Day, the weather starts to get warmer here, Trade Deadline for Hockey quickly approaches, I get more daylight per day than I did in January and yeah, my birthday! :)
So going back to the Super Bowl... wow! If you bet on the Seahawks and won, well done. I didn't see that coming at all. Happy I didn't put any money down on the game, cause I would have lost it all, lol. I was at my future roommates place (moving in April most likely) and we had a wonderful feast! He made smoked ribs, I helped with crab stuffed mushroom caps, the steak bites and the seafood dip for nachos! It was a blast to get a bunch of people together and watch the game on the TV. We played poker, razzed the guy cheering for Denver from the opening snap and heard some great 'one-liners' from my buddy Jungle J, lol. Great night all-in-all for the guys!
Valentines Day is like the party before my birthday. It's kinda nice. People get all the romantic or angry feelings out of the way, then enjoy to chill with friends. It's pretty cool. Fun factoid of the day/month/whichever, I have 2 older brothers (38 and 45), we share the same dad, different moms, and all 3 of us are born on the same day... A bit odd, don't think that happens very often.
Trade Deadline: for those who don't follow NHL hockey, this blurp will be boring; but this is where things start to get exciting in the NHL with teams trading away picks and players to improve their team and the "real season" actually begins. the worst 3-6 teams have been identified and the rest of the league jockey's back and forth to see who's making the playoffs and who could be playing who. Fun times indeed...
And who can forget about the Olympics?! That should be a blast this year. I'm excited to cheer on my country and see what other countries and athletes can do. I'm predicting 8 Olympic records will be broken and 4 World records will be broken this year. Not as high as in previous Olympics, but still, a good showing.
Feb also means I'm a month closer to heading to Vegas for work! Whoop, whoop! Vegas is so much fun and if you've never been, it should be on your bucket list. Yes, the gambling experience is kinda cool and different from other places, but there's so much more to Vegas than gambling. The shows, the lights, the golfing, trips to the Grand Canyon, fishing, and more lights! It's the greatest spectacle of human showbiz and lights in the world! I've seen a Cirqu show ("O" to be specific) and was blown away at the talent that some people have. Incredible athletes and performers doing things that practically no one else can physically do. Oh, and the food there, so good, but really expensive for the higher end restaurants. Worth though setting aside $600-$800 though to splurge on one night of fine dinning between two people. You wont regret it... Until you look at your bank statement, lol
Hope everyone has gotten over the hang-over from New Years by now, and any New Years Resolutions you made are going good. Ciao for now :)
