So first,
Hope everyone had a good New Years and merry Christmas!
I'm curious if anyone has made any new year resolutions that they're willing to share? Mine is to be better financially. I'm looking into making a appointment with a financial advisor and sitting down to discuss what to do with my RRSP's and how to save money better. $7,500.00/year is my goal over the next couple years so I can get my own place in BC and be closer to my son.
Feel free to share your's in the comments spot :)
Other things that are new...? Umm... I'm working, doing snow removal in wonderful Edmonton, AB. We've received about a meter worth of snow already. For those on the imperial system, that's over 3 feet. So that's keeping me pretty damn busy, considering we get called out for every 5cm (2 inches) of snow fall. I'm also starting to do hiring for my company. Labourers, operators and flag people... If anyone is looking for a job for 4-6 months that pays pretty decent money. You'll have to be a Canadian citizen or have your own work VISA, but we hire lots of people. Looking for 65-80 people total in the 3 divisions I help hire for.
Other things... I think I might have a rough 5 year plan. How I hope my life goes over the next 4-5 years and that really excited me! I'll be looking at writing it down and going from there. I've done the odd "goal setting" course, and writing down your goals is the best way to help achieve them. Write them down, and look at them each day. First thing in the morning, so that you start your day off with those goals in mind! There's a bunch of more specific things as well, but that's a quick and simple thing to start off with.
Went to an NHL game the other day and forgot how much fun they are! We had a blast! Oilers vs Lightening. Home team won 5-3 which was kinda cool. I won $20 in a bet because I was the closest to the final score. Though I seriously thought the visiting team was going to win the game. Both of us picked the visitors to win the game, so no one won that. The beer at the hockey rink is crazy potent. 4 beers and my nose was starting to get pretty fuzzy and numb, lol! There's gotta be something special in the lines there. No wonder they cut people off at the end of the 2nd intermission, lol!
Other things that are new... Found a new game on the iPhone to play :) It's called "Game of War" and my alliance the other day said I may have bully tendencies but they're all happy that I'm on their side, lol! That conversation started with a person asking a question, 'what's the best way to get silver' and I responded, 'attack and kill people!'. Though in the end, it's the quickest and easiest way to get silver in the game... Probably not all that fascinating for you though.
K, that's where I'll stop this blog. Have fun, play hard and enjoy your days :) :P
