Sadie started Reception Class at Birches First School
Sophia started nursery and I went back to work in earnest after over 6 months at home on maternity leave.
Thanks for your words of encouragement after handing in my notice!! I was summoned on the first day back to meet with the Head who told me that I wouldn't be going before Christmas unless they found a replacement, regardless of the fact my termporary contract states I only need to give a week's notice - and I'd given him 2 months (WTF???!!!). Not wanting to make life difficult for myself I said OK.
Luckily there are some potential replacements in the pipeline - some mad fools who want to train to teach high school kids!!! As the school are cheap skates this will suit them down to the ground as trainees are paid by the association that trains them and not the school, so everyone's winner!!! I bet the Headteach is secretly quite pleased as he gets a teacher for free, basically and doesn't have to shell out for a fully qualified teacher who he clearly can't stand (ie, me).
I'm not getting too excited, just incase it goes tits up but if all goes to plan I'll be leaving in 5 weeks time!!!! even better I'll be moving to primary when they're getting ready for christmas and that thought alone really excites me!!!!!!!!!!!!
anyhoo, like I say. I'm not holding my breath just incase these potential replacements come to their senses before they've signed on the dotted line!!!!!!!! but keep your fingers crossed for me.
Other news: 1) Sadie is looooooooooving school and is super enthusiastic about it all (bless). Hope she still feels the same in 10 years time
(experience of teenage kids tells me she probably won't)
2) Sophia is settling in well to nursery but has picked up all manner of colds, etc from other kids and so is a bit snuffly and weasy
still grinning though, bless her tiny cotton socks!!
today my hubby has gone to nottingham to see an old uni friend so I am alone with the kiddies never mind. I got Dalziel and Pascoe to watch to teleport replay!!! oooohhh and going to the parents for tea. ooooooooooh, I said I'd post more piccies of their amazing new place. well, he's some of the garden -

picking apples in the orchard. crazy shit. Their old house that Lidyl (sp???still dunno) paid stupid money to flatten is being demolished next month
gawd, this is a long update. anyhoo. I better go and feed Sophia after her nap. Sadie is asleep so I may have time for an episode of most haunted on Replay before she wakes up!!!!!!!

aww your girls are so cuute! they are really lovely , my goodness. I am excited for you to teach primary too, you get to teach them while they are still interested in learning before allthe jaded attitude hah...good luck! and thanks for the nice words about my shitty friend situation, good riddance to bad rubbish eh?
