Firstly, for some gratuitous camwhoring
now that's out of the way - check this out:
this is my parent's new house. they moved in yesterday and it just luscious!!!!!!! they have an orchard (a fucking orchard with fruit and everything!!!!!!) and a paddock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have a few mixed feelings about this because in order to afford this house they have sold their old house (the place I grew up in) to a property developer for twice what it was worth so the evil sod can flatten it and build a Lidl (spelling?? no idea-a tacky supermarket anyhoo) in it's place. so it's a bit weird for me really
the funniest thing is this house is about 5 minutes walk from the super-rough council estate where I teach (and where my dad grew up but that was before it was taken over by crack dealers and gangsters). you sooo wouldn't know it though - it's down a little leafy lane! will post more pictures of it soon.
Other exciting stuff - spent the morning chasing the cat around the garden. i was supposed to take her to the vet cos another cat (her twin sister, Pip, we suspect) gauged a big chunk out of her left eye ball and it got all infected. thing is, cos we've already been twice this week trying to get it sorted she knew what was happening and as soon as she saw the cat box she pegged it!! i was trying to coax her down from the fence but she wasn' having any of it! I got a bit pissed off and resorted to swearing and shaking the fence so now all the neighbours think i'm some sort of cat bashing fish wife. hey ho!!
I am now off to purchase Sadie's school uniform (sob!!) and then perchance, venture to sainsburys. stop me, somebody, this existence is just tooooo rock n roll!

Later that day: Just found a fucking huuuuuuuuuuge cat flea on Sophia!!!!!!!! that'll be another job for the vet to do then! Until then cats are banished to the garden!
