Well, I haven't posted any updates (Edit: this blog post has been updated as of now hehe! How ironic and meta!! π€£π) in a while as I've been knee-deep in the Life Swamp lol! Anyway I hope you are all well and enjoying the festive season... crazy to think that Christmas is round the corner!
Anyhoo in brief here's my list of what's been happening with moi. I am of course going on the assumption that it might be of interest to someone (lol) but in any case I am invoking my right to BLOG just because I can and I have paid for an SG subscription which comes with some blank digital canvas with which I can paint verbal pictures of my choosing βπ
And so here we go:
β’ Wrasslin' with the anxiety demons (fun for all!! NOT)
β’Watching Season 2 of Hannibal (darkly enjoyable, kinda disturbing, a little bit samey and at times frustratingly deviating from the narrative in the books)
β’ Bought an AWESOME Harley Quinn Christmas sweater
β’ Bought an equally AWESOME Ravenclaw Quidditch jumper. Fun fact: they're made by the same Scottish woolen mill that made the actual prop jumpers for the movies and it's super warm. They also had Ravenclaw cardigans but they were Riddikulus! π
β’ HYPED for the recently announced Resident Evil 3 remake (AKA REmake 3) which will be out on April 3 2020. It looks amazing!! RE3 was always my favorite Resident Evil so revisiting it again in glorious 4K is going to be awesome π€
β’ Making Moonshine in Red Dead Online
β’ Making mulled wine (IRL π) to enjoy as a nice festive tipple as an offset to the the supremely short days of the cold Scottish winter. π·
β’ Contemplating how Vulcan (i.e. bereft of emotional connectivity) my ex-girlfriend has turned out to be. No disrespect to Spock, Tuvok or T'pol π
β’ Finding that one of my dogs ate the WHOLE packet of black pudding that I bought this morning while I was pottering around upstairs after work (in his defense he is a 4ft tall Greyhound who can reach the kitchen worktop with ease)
β’ Listening to a couple of really good Reggae choons (I have supremely diverse taste in music but Dub/Reggae has always been close to my heart) - Danny Red's Overjoy and Christine Miller's Zion Bound both on the King Shiloh label and best enjoyed wit maximum bass me bredda!! π§πΆπ
β’ Eating Β£6 before 6pm pizza at Mozza. Tasty!
β’ Finding sweet Wrangler jeans for only Β£5 at the thrift store! I'm stuck somewhere between the baggy jeans I wore in the 90s (I've been skateboarding since I was 12 and rocked the baggy steez for quite a while) and the hipster skinnies which are waaay too skinny for me. I tried a pair on once and it just looked weird π€£ so finding a happy medium usually involves my buying straight leg jeans with a 34 or 36 inch waist! Lol! It gives you the sag (shoutout to the Osiris ODS!! Sag without drag!! π€£) without looking like a 90s throwback... anyway said thrift store jeans are rather nice. Never had a pair of Wrangler jeans before π€
β’ Started reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods
β’ Got MAJOR heart eyes ππ for Gwen Stefani while watching an episode of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke which appeared in my YouTube feed. I mean wow how hot and cool is Gwen!?!? I think she's 50 years old now and she looks amazing, although I'm not sure how old the Carpool Karaoke episode was π€ I think the fact that she was rocking the bright red lipstick and bleached blonde hair probably had something to do with it as she instantly reminded me of my No.1 gal Harley Quinn. In fact just on appearance alone she would have made a really good big screen Harley, maybe the Hot in the City New 52 Harley? Anyway Gwen Stefani is now firmly amongst my famous lady crushes alongside Sofia Boutella, MΓ©lanie Laurent, Sandra Bullock Stefanie Joosten, Amna Kendrick and of course the lovely Margot Robbie AKA Harley Quinn π
β’ Recorded a pilot podcast for a potential new project... a 50 minute one-shot which I'm quite pleased with but might re-record for posterity. I haven't decided yet...
β’ And as always when checking in with SG, I'm quietly blown away by the girls that appear on my home page feed... and I wonder how it is that one comes across the tattooed alternative gurls that like the same stuff I do - other than in the virtual space that is SG I mean π You just never seem to meet any of them in the real world. But then there are probably thousands of other guys on the site thinking exactly the same thing. I think being in a tiny coastal village in the UK probably doesn't help lol! I guess what this really means is that I probably need to get myself back out there and get dating at some point. Confidence! Optimism! Perpetual Perseverance! Felix Felicis!! ππ
And that's about it really... my ecent life 'n' ting in bullet point format hehe! And it's now 3:26am and time for me to think about snoozeland... π€π€
Peace! βπ
