Hi, ok, I thought I'd introduce myself a little bit more. I've only been a member of SG for a few days and thought I'd pick it up running, but been commenting on one or two message boards, so decided I'd give a little bit of introduction.
My real-word alias is Lindy, and I'm a junior illustrator at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL. (And, newark, I do know Shawn, he was actually my Illustration professor last year, although last I heard he was moving out to CA. Got himself a Career.) I consider myself not the worst in my class, but not the best-- yet.
I'm on summer vacation right now and between trips to see both sides of a divorced family, decided it was unfeasible to get a J-O-B, the result being horrible, mind-blowing, unrelenting boredom. I have a newfound respect for retirees. So SG has become one of my many efforts to occupy myself without driving myself and my boyfriend crazy.
I've been described, from various sources, as punk, goth, intellectual, and cynical. I do not regard myself as any of the above as each describes a particular value system to which I do not subscribe. I'm trying to see how often I can use "scribe" in this paragraph. As cliche as this sounds, I'm just trying to be me, and if that means liking Spiderman 2 and disco as well as BBC programmes and Johnen Vasquez, so be it.
And, DM, thanks for your welcome. I hope I wasn't presumptuous in not introducing myself before. My boyfriend and I both love TP, seems like we're always recommending him and never meeting fans. I think we've read the Discworld series at least three times, averaged out, and I can't count how many times I read Good Omens.
