I'm currently absorbed in Robert Sullivan's "Rat's: Observations on the History and Habitat of the City's Most Unwanted Inhabitants" and I must say that I am learning quite a bit about my favorite of all animals.
I'd suggest the book to anyone living in the city who has come in contact with our phobia creating neighbors.

Ive got loads of mice partying at my house. Once a baby one got stuck in the tub, and I didnt know what to do. I couldnt very well let him run around chewing holes in my ramen noodles. I turned the water on. He swam laps. Curiously I threw a sponge into the water, the itsy bitsy mouse, as large as a quarter went straight for it and used it as a boat. After seeing that and thinking of Steamboat Willy I couldnt kill him. I put him in a ziploc and carried him two blocks down and released him into a pile of garbage.
