Whilst you read this blog.. remember.. geeky girls are hot.
Have you ever known someone who honestly resembled a mythical creature? I have. I live with him. I actually live with two mythical creatures. From the moment I met my boyfriend Rory, I knew he was an elf. I just knew it. Granted, his physical appearance makes him look as such. He's very small framed, with large glassy "star child" eyes, as we call it, with a very calming presence and perfect eye sight. His mythical spirit is easy to read, because he's very connected to it. When he wears green he stands out from the crowd even more. A lot of people that he comes in contact with say.. "you have such an elvish look". He smiles, because he knows already. And to be even more specific.. he's a wood elf. He belongs amongst nature, climbing trees, eating fruits and nuts. He has a strange fascination with large cats of the woods.. like moutain lions or lynx. He also has the same intrigue for wolves. Our dog is one of his closest friends because he connects with her. He has a huge eagle on his chest, and it couldn't be more appropriate. If you met him.. there would be no denying that he's a wood elf. And if you think I'm crazy.. think about it for yourself.
I googled "wood elf" and this picture came up. And that's pretty much my bf. Minus the ears and plus tattoos.
Have you ever been somewhere, or met someone for the first time, and they seem so much like a Pixie? Or a Siren? Elf? Vampire? Troll? MUGGLE?! Muggles are the easiest to spot. Muggles (which I believe I was told is a Harry Potter term? Is that correct? I didn't read Harry Potter, so I'm not sure) are people who are so stuck in the routine of their own lives, and who are so angry and bitter that they've resigned themselves from all of their magic, and cut themselves from the lineage of their "mythical" past. Muggles don't believe in anything. Are often extremely cynical, and are serious downers. Whenever you're around a Muggle, you can feel them draining your high, happy energy out of you. They're nay-sayers. They're usually grumpy, fast food eating, cynical, self loathing, and down right depressing. They've cut their ties, or burnt their bridges, rather... to a higher self that they at one time knew.. or never wanted to know. They're completely plugged into the Matrix (for lack of a better reference) and have no problem with continuing on without a spirtual side.
This blog has a point, I'm getting to it. If you're still with me, and don't think I'm crazy.. continue on. Well, since my boyfriend has such an OBVIOUS mythical creature connection, I've been obsessed for the past year and a half.. with finding my mythical creature. I've meditated. I've asked for dreams, signs, anything!!! Well.. I've finally figured it the fuck out. I am a nymph. To be even more specific.. a Sea Nymph. I'm obsessed with the ocean. I consider whales, and dolphins to be the most interesting animals on the planet. I'm completely at peace and in love with life when by the ocean side. I love the company of women like me. I am very sexually active, and have a rather high sex drive, even for a woman my age. (i.e. Nymphomania). Nymphs are bathing beauties. They're comfortable being naked, and accompanied by women who are comfortable within their bodies, being nude as well. They're beautiful, even through the aging process. They are not immortal, but have an extremely long life. They're intrigued by men/women (whatever their sexual preference) of other species of mythical characters, and will be quite open and free with their sexuality, until they find a mate.. and then usually want stability in marriage. Calypso, the most well known Sea Nymph in mythology, lived on the island Malta. For some creepy reason that I'm unsure of.. I've been obsessed with Malta for the longest time. Since I was a child. Who obsesses over an island? I don't know... a creepy little nymph like me. But what a relief to finally know what I am.
Wouldn't I look good blue?
And.. I have a secret power. I have the ability to predict a person's behaviour based on what their closest mythical spirit being is. I'm also really good at figuring out what a persons mythical entity is. For example.. if I can tell from the beginning that a person is a Pixie, I have a better understanding of how such person will react to events that take place. Am I crazy? Are you now interested in figuring out your mythical spirit connection? If you are.. you can answer a few questions I've provided below. Your answers to these questions will help me better understand your personality, and help me to better pin point your mythical entity. If you want to participate, make sure you have a good photograph for me to refer to. Physical appearance isn't EVERYTHING.. but it's a good part of it.
1. If you had to catagorize yourself as a mythical creature off the top of your head, what would you say you are? (Take a guess... you're more often than not closer than you think.)
2. What colors do you look best in, or what colors are you attracted to the most?
3. If you could live anywhere you wanted to, where would it be? (By the ocean? In a cave? In the wilderness?)
4. List 3 or 4 of your favorite musicians or bands, that you feel you connect with the most when you listen to it.
5. Pick 3 or 4 words to describe yourself.
6. What is your outlook on sex? (Do you have a high/low sex drive? Do you favor a deeper connection with a sexual encounter, or do you prefer multiple partners with no strings attached?)
7. What do you look for in a relationship?
8. What is your social appetite? (Do you have lots of aquaintences, or very few close friends? Do you need to be out and about all the time, or are you a homebody?)
9. What is your diet like? (Name a few foods you eat often, and a few foods you hate)
10. Are there animals that you find fascinating, that you feel connected to?
So if you don't think that I'm a total hack... play with me. Let's find out what you are, now that you know what I am.

1. Not sure what mythical creature but I tend to identify with half elves/humans with some fighting and some spellcasting ability whenever I have played any sort of role playing game. A hybrid.
2. I look best in greens and browns and am really attracted to blues and blacks in objects.
3. I would probably live in the Forests but not too far from the water a large lake and some streams. I am partial to the Ocean but not quite as strongly as the Forest.
4. Hmmm Bands. That is always sooo tough. I am so ecletic there. Modest Mouse, The Eagles, Red Hot Chile Peppers., Frank Sinatra, The Shins
5. Intelligent, Witty, Humorous, Gregarious, Loyal
6. High sex drive, commited and loyal looking for that deeper connectiong with my partner but with a voyeuristic/wanderlust that craves the random encounters and would like to share those with my partner.
7. Laughter, commitment, conversation, connection
8. More homebody than I used to be, but that may just be age. I have a circle of close friends with a wide swath of acquaintances around that. I meet and make friends easily with a wide group of people.
9. Food. Hrrrmmm... I love doughnuts. TexMex/Spanish/South American cuisine is probably my favorite, followed by Thai (mmm Green Curry!!). Not a huge meat eater but I do like my occasional fine cuts of well prepared meats. There is not much I dislike, we had to eat it all when we were little... not a big fan of brussel sprouts!!
10. Animals? I prefer cats over dogs, I like the serenity of a large (has to be clean though...) fish tank. Outside that I have always had an affinity towards Mt. Lions.
Okay I made it. Task complete.
ps.. hope things are continueing to go well for you.
Later.
But this connection thing does have me a little concerned. As much baggage as there is with my family, I've had to sever a lot of emotional connections to them. My best friend moved to North Dakota and that's changed our relationship. My relationship to my kids is feeling more and more like a stewardship, not a love. Another girlfriend came and went the second half of last year and I'm not broken up about it. At all. Yet, I'm not depressed. It's just feeling like I'm on this ride watching everything go by. And I'm becoming more interested in watching it than participating or experiencing it. Or maybe that's just because it's easier. Or maybe I am just not quite over the subconscious frustration about the last relationship not working out. In any case, it crossed my mind that I could be at a crossroads, so to speak, faced with the choice of forcing myself to connect and stay attached to people or allow myself to transition towards something wraith-like; a spectre, lingering, watching, existing in the living realm, but being immune to the emotions interwoven between the living. Maybe I should stop playing fantasy RPGs.
