My roommate and I put up a Winter Holiday Neon Clubland Tree. It's neon-green plastic and very sparse, so it's kind of like the Charlie Brown's Christmas Tree on acid. It is, however, the first festive holiday thing I've had on my own, so it's exciting for that.
It snowed today, and it's definitely the earliest in the year that I've seen snow in my entire life. It was strange to walk around the city and know that a few inches of snow was hardly going to shut anything down. In Atlanta, it doesn't even have to snow for everything to stop functioning, it just has to be icy enough so that schoolbusses can't handle the roads. I'm sure that soon I'll be jaded and loathe the slush, but for now, I feel all warm and fuzzy and generally at peace with life. (As long as I ignore looming finals.)

chitin:
Yeah, if New York shut down every time it snowed, our economy would tank.
