Pastimes and archaeological finds...
I've been working most of the week on the vintage pinsetters we have here at the bowling alley. They were made in a time when things were built to last, soild metal and ingenious engineering, not the plastic and tempermental circuit boards of today. These Brunswick pinsetters were installed in the late fifties/early sixties and have been in use since then. It's amazing how simple they built these things. Not over-engineered with oil pumps, and controls. Such a refreshing change. Even one of the pin decks is the original, Armor Plate pin deck. Y'all would not believe the amount of dust, lint, dirt, and crap that had accumulated underneath these things. Under lane two, Tim found a first edition aluminum Coca-cola can, the first ever aluminum can, still in excellent condition. You had to use a church key to pop a hole in both sides to drink from it, there is no easy open tab or top. And then, under lane one, I found an old Pepsi cola tin can, with the seam up the side and the same style top as the coke can. They've been under the lanes for like 40 years or so. Pretty amazing. Here are some pictures of them...
Tonight is our mid-winter dinner (mid-winter being the winter solstice.) A formal occasion for those that brought dress clothes, and every year there are a few that dress to the nines. Full tuxedo's and even full dress kilts. Some amazingly beautiful dresses on the equally gorgeuos women. The kitchen staff makes an incredible meal and a good time is had by all. Plus the wine and booze is free
I think I am gonna stuff myself silly! Gotta build up my insulation and prepare myself for the mid-winter polar plunge. Yep, I am gonna go get nekkid and jump into the 28F/-2C ocean through a hole in the ice. Last time, in April, I jumped in three times in a row. I think I may try to match it or maybe I'll go for five times... Kinda gotta bet with Bruce, he's gonna try to keep up with me but me being me, is gonna have to do one more than him... Gotta love that governmental programming. Of course the best part about doing the plunge is the communal spa afterwards, an attempt to get your core temp back to normal. Lots of nakedness which is never a bad thing, especially mid-winter
Oh yeah... Black Ops party is next weekend!!! YAY!!!!

As to our happy employer. Argh. Though yesterdays pot stirring may have taken things on a higher level. A needed level. A Mr. Embree level. Who knows? He does not impress me, but whatever. At least someone finally listened to what I said.
Vinyl...yummy. Though honestly I am loosing serious motivation to even deal with going out. Feeling the need to be seriously reclusive.
~cheers
Though a hut 10 fetish rave would be most tempting.
See you at the waste barn!
