Alright everybody....here's a topic to debate! I've gotten into some heated discussions over this one: Should a band continue after their lead singer dies? My opinion is based entirely on the fact that I don't believe the other members of the band should be "punished" and feel that the whole band as an entity should die with that individual. The perfect example obviously is AC/DC. After Bon Scott's death, the band came back re-energized with Brian Johnson and haven't looked back, and it actually WORKED. More recently, I use the example of INXS. I'm tired of the people who still keep bitching that "they used a game show to pick a new guy" and "it's just not INXS without Michael Hutchence". You know what? Those guys are all amazing musicians, the songs are timeless, and the fact that JD Fortune can actually pull off singing 90% of the stuff pretty damn effectively is awesome. They're a great band and I love the fact that they're currently out there kicking ass on tour. And Alice in Chains.....Layne Staley's death was tragic, but I feel the band was incredibly respectful of his memory on the album "Black Gives Way to Blue" and William DuVall does an amazing job as the new frontman.
I wish people would be MORE pissed about bands such as Journey and Styx who tour with new singers, mostly because of bullshit disagreements with their still "very much alive" original singers. Bands whose frontmen have died don't have the choice of whether or not to mend fences....their only choice is whether or not to continue rocking because they love to do so. Thoughts, anyone?

You drink red wine cold? Not at room temperature? Very bizarre.

Didnt I diss INXS to you via email? I agree in a sense but I also disagree. I have debated This many times and I used to have a list I referred to... ( memory failure and all that). It works for some bands but others can't pull it off ( and this is just my opinion not fact). you now want examples yes?
